At Timber Ridge Counselling, individual therapy offers a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their unique experiences, challenges, and healing journeys. Rooted in a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, sessions are tailored to meet each person where they’re at, honouring their pace, voice, and autonomy.

We draw on a range of evidence-based and expressive modalities to support the therapeutic process, including:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): A well-researched approach that helps individuals process and release distress related to trauma, anxiety, and negative beliefs.

Sandplay Therapy: A non-verbal, symbolic approach that allows children, youth, and adults to express inner experiences when words may be difficult or limiting.

Narrative Therapy: This approach supports clients in re-authoring the stories they hold about themselves, shifting away from problem-focused narratives toward ones that reflect strength, resilience, and preferred identity.

Somatic and Attachment-Based Work: Helping clients reconnect with their bodies and build safety in relationships, fostering emotional regulation and deeper healing.

Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, identity questions, or seeking personal growth, individual counselling is a space for reflection, connection, and change. Together, we’ll build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, compassion, and respect—supporting you in uncovering your inner resources and moving toward a more aligned and empowered life.

At Timber Ridge Counselling, play therapy is a developmentally sensitive and trauma-informed approach designed to support children in expressing their emotions, navigating challenges, and building resilience—all through the natural language of play.

In a warm and welcoming environment, children are invited to engage in play using toys, art, sand, movement, and storytelling. These tools allow them to safely express thoughts and feelings they may not yet have the words for. Through play, children explore experiences, process big emotions, and begin to make sense of their world in a way that feels safe and manageable.

We are trained to attune to the deeper meaning behind a child’s play, helping them build emotional regulation skills, strengthen their sense of self, and work through difficulties such as anxiety, grief, trauma, or behavioural concerns. We also incorporate elements of attachment-based work and somatic awareness to support a child’s whole-body experience of safety and healing.

Play therapy at Timber Ridge is more than just play—it’s a powerful, therapeutic process that honours each child’s pace, creativity, and inner wisdom.

Caregiver Support

At Timber Ridge Counselling, we recognize that when a child is struggling, their caregivers often carry the emotional weight, worry, and responsibility of supporting them. At Timber Ridge Counselling, we recognize that when a child is struggling, their caregivers often carry the emotional weight, worry, and responsibility of supporting them. Our Caregiver Support Sessions are designed to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for parents, guardians, and caregivers to process their own experiences, gain insight into their child’s needs, and strengthen their capacity to support healing at home.

These sessions are tailored to each family’s unique situation and may include:

Psychoeducation about trauma, attachment, nervous system regulation, and child development

Emotional support for the stress, guilt, or overwhelm that can arise in caregiving

Practical tools to support co-regulation, communication, boundaries, and safety in the home

Collaborative planning to align on goals, explore progress, and discuss how therapy is supporting your child

Whether you're navigating your child’s anxiety, trauma, behavioural concerns, or neurodivergence, these sessions create space for you—to feel heard, supported, and empowered in your role. We believe that when caregivers are resourced and connected, children are better able to heal and thrive.

You don’t have to do this alone. Caregiver sessions offer a place to exhale, regroup, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

Registered Counselling Therapist Trauma-Informed EMDR, Play Therapy, Somatic + Narrative Approaches

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a registered counselling therapist with a passion for supporting individuals and families through trauma, grief, attachment wounds, and life transitions. My practice is grounded in safety, compassion, and deep respect for each person’s story and inner wisdom.

I work with children, youth, and adults, offering a relational and body-aware approach that honours both what’s said and what’s felt. My training includes EMDR, Play Therapy, Sandplay, Narrative Therapy, and Somatic Attachment work. I believe that healing happens not just through insight, but also through connection, movement, and reclaiming the parts of ourselves that have been silenced or overwhelmed.

In working with kids, I incorporate play, creativity, and movement to help them process big emotions in ways that feel natural and safe. With caregivers, I offer supportive sessions to strengthen co-regulation, reduce overwhelm, and build practical tools for home. For teens and adults, sessions may include storytelling, body-based regulation, and EMDR to gently support trauma processing and personal growth.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I’m here to walk alongside you—whether you’re navigating trauma, seeking clarity, or simply trying to find your way back to yourself.
